Here is part 3 of the escape

I glanced nervously at Travis. We had gotten dressed and gone to three orphanages; none of them were the one that I had been adopted from. Travis insisted that I should look fancy, so I wore a gray dress with a purple bow around the waist. I curled my hair and wore heels and a gray necklace.
“Don’t worry Anna, we will find your parents. Even if I have to travel to the end of the world for you.”
I punched his arm playfully.
“Thanks. Pull over please, I see one ahead.”
Travis stopped the horses and I got out of the wagon. We were in the country, and it was surprising to find an orphanage here and not in the city.
“I’ll just wait out here.”
I slowly nodded and approached the door. I lifted the bronze knocker and let it drop. It thudded loudly and I cringed.
Maybe this isn’t a good idea. All this searching is just making me more distraught. And besides why do I want to find the people who left me? The people who never loved me, who just left me?
I was about to turn around and leave when a middle age lady opened the door. She was wearing a black dress and had graying hair.
“Welcome to Marquis Orphanage. How may I help you?”
“Um, I need to speak to the owner of the orphanage.”
“Yes of course. Please, do come in.”
I entered and sat on a chair while the lady left to fetch the owner. The orphanage was well kept. The floor was polished and it had a rather grand staircase.
Then a lady with black hair walked towards me. She had a white dress that went down to her ankles and had a bright red necklace on.
“Hello. How may I help you?”
I stood and shook her hand.
“Hi. I think I was left here. I recently found out that I was adopted and I want to find my parents. My adoptive mother said that the orphanage owner said that I was left on the doorstep.”
“Oh well let me think. What year were you born?”
“In 1903,” I replied.
“Oh my. I remember you. There has only been three babies that have been left like that and the other two were just a few months ago. It was a stormy night and I heard a knock at the door. I opened it and found a baby. No one was there, they must have left. The odd thing though, was that the baby’s birth certificate was left with it. The babies name was, Anna.”
I turned white when I heard that. That baby was me. It had to be.
“May I see the birth certificate please?”
“Yes, follow me.”
The owner led me through a hallway and into an office. She began searching through files and then pulled a paper out. She handed it to me.
Birth Certificate
This hereby states that Anna Lucinda was born to Ella Summers and Mark Summers on August 27 at 12:30 am.

I quickly thanked the lady and rushed outside. I hopped into the wagon and Travis started the horses. I handed it to him and he chuckled quietly.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Anna, I know these people.”
