Ok,so,I've been looking for a writing club,and...
this is the only one that seems active enough. You see,I have a writing class called IEW.I am in the third course of it.I have to write three paragraphs(5 soon!).And then,I have to add 6 dress ups,6 sentence openers,I have to add questions, metaphors and similies(whatie whats?),
have to add words from the first sentence to the last sentence, and TONS more! And I'm only 11!But,at least I can get all that homework done. So,can I join?

Admin: here's what I recently sent a member about writing and I hope that it helps you....Basically, a writer is someone who looks at the chaotic flood of information that constantly bombards all of us. Everyone makes sense of it in ways that they have learned will help them survive and sometimes thrive.

But a writer is someone more special than that. A writer is someone who can look at an overwhelming, disorganized, complex world and see patterns that make sense. And then, even more critically, is a person who can order those patterns in a way that others will understand when they read them.

There is an overall way that we are all the same in the way that we think: the human mind works from concrete to abstract, from specific to general. That's how a good paragraph is made, too.

If a writer starts with a particular event that they want to use as an example of a larger truth, then a sentence will be devoted to setting a scene with particulars. The artful use of words, chosen carefully and arranged with attention to the rules of grammar helps quite a bit. Then, once a scene has been set, the writer gets to reveal how they see a larger pattern in the particular, specific details that they have used. It's sort of like using evidence to prove a theory.

Whether someone writes fiction or non fiction, whatever they believe will come out in the way that they choose to present to readers what they decide to show and in the way that they draw  conclusions from the details they have chosen to use.

Above all, most writers read....a lot. But not just for the enjoyment of getting caught up in a story. Good writers constantly read other writers' work to see the nuances and habits and patterns in that individual's work. That's where the signature style of writers is available for all to read.

So, hopefully the above gives  you some sense of where to start.

What's your story about? Who or what is the main focus? What development or journey is involved? What point of view are you going to choose?

If you decide to devote the time, discipline, focus and just plain hard work to perfecting your craft, then the world will eagerly await the stories you write. We all love to be taken somewhere new, artfully.

The Heart of Autumn
By:pizza freak

There once was a girl who had the heart of a dove and the wiseness of an owl.She lived in the mountains with her pet cat,Whiskers. She was not lonely living by herself, she saw her friends and relatives often. She was known as Sylvania. She was as pure as the clouds and if you were to look upon her,at first she would seem like light. She was a hero to the good, and a terrifying beast to the evil. Her story was amazing, almost unbelievable. And that is why this tale will be told to you.TO BE CONTINUED
