Equius: After eating the amazing meal, I headed to the paddok and saddled up Miki. Then, I ran back to the cabin and packed a saddlebag full of stuff that I would need. After that, I attached the saddlebag and looked for Sollux, who was trying and failing to get the saddle blanket on Ryu. I led Miki over and said "If you'd like, I can help you. He nodded as I gave him Miki's reins. I then explained each part of tacking up to him as he listened. Surprisingly, Ryu didn't skitter away when I tacked him up. I slipped the bit into the stallion's mouth and tugged the rest of the bridle over his ears. "Okay, you can mount now." I said. He tried jumping up onto the tall stallion's back, but failed, so I gave him a leg up. "Thanks." he replied I then swung up on Miki and we headed out.
Sollux: I had no idea how to ride a horse, so I just followed what the others were doing. Ryu let out a little rear as I nudged him forewards, but I held on for dear life and didn't fall off. If I got hurt, I wouldn't be able to sneak away into the night and be home by sunrise. I took a deep breath and nudged him forewards again. This time, he started off into a walk with his head held high. |
